Towards Fair Representation of Women in Sudan’s Judiciary

On International Day of Women Judges, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy (NCPD) calls for urgent reforms to ensure women’s full participation in Sudan’s judiciary.

Despite legal guarantees, female judges face systemic barriers, male-dominated leadership, and societal biases that limit their influence. This underrepresentation affects justice, particularly on issues like gender-based violence, family rights, and workplace equality.

NCPD urges all stakeholders to remove barriers, empower women in leadership roles, and transform the judiciary to reflect the diversity and needs of Sudanese society.
