On World Humanitarian Day, August 19, 2025, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy (NCPD) honors the brave humanitarian workers who risk everything to save lives and support vulnerable communities amid war and displacement. These tireless individuals embody courage, compassion, and hope in the darkest moments of human suffering.
Sudan today faces one of its gravest humanitarian crises. Millions of civilians are trapped in conflict and displacement, with urgent needs for food, medicine, and protection. Cities like El Fasher, Delling, Kadugli, and El Obeid have become epicenters of suffering, as hunger, disease outbreaks-including cholera. and collapsing health systems threaten countless lives. Refugee and IDP camps are overwhelmed, with children, women, and the elderly facing extreme vulnerability daily.

The NCPD emphasizes that humanitarian action is not just a duty—it is a moral imperative, a testament to human solidarity. The organization calls on the international community, humanitarian agencies, governments, and individuals to step up urgently, deliver life-saving aid, and support peace and human dignity for all affected by Sudan’s conflict.
As the Centre stresses: the suffering in Sudan demands immediate action. Together, we can restore hope, protect lives, and ensure a future where every Sudanese person can live safely and with dignity.
