Empowering Sudanese Youth: Building Leaders and Turning Ideas into Action

Youth Capacity-Building Workshop: Empowering a New Generation of Sudanese Leaders in Collaborative Project Creation

The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, in partnership with the African Organization for Rights and Development (AFORD), organized an intensive youth capacity-building workshop entitled “Collaborative Project Co-Creation Using a Guided Writing Skills Methodology.” The workshop brought together 30 young men and women from diverse backgrounds, aiming to equip them with the practical knowledge and skills needed to design and manage projects effectively, contributing to sustainable development and peace in Sudan.

Workshop Objectives and Content

The two-day workshop covered a range of essential topics:

  • Day One: Introduction to the Logical Framework Approach and Project Cycle Management, providing participants with the fundamentals of project planning, goal-setting, activity design, and strategic resource management.
  • Day Two: Training focused on project budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and preparing progress reports, enabling participants to track project progress, measure impact, and learn lessons to improve future projects.

The workshop also encouraged creativity and innovation in idea and project development, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration among youth to enhance leadership skills and civic engagement.

Participants praised the workshop as a qualitative leap in their practical knowledge and professional skills. They highlighted that it provided:
