Kaitesi Faith: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Kaitesi Faith says:

“Only through collective efforts-governments, civil society, communities, and individuals-can we guarantee safety, justice, and dignity for all women and girls. This campaign is a call for unity, action, and commitment to a future free from violence.”

“Gender-based violence continues to devastate the lives of millions of women and girls across the world. To end this injustice, we must move beyond words and commit to concrete action.

Enforce Laws: Governments must strengthen the enforcement of laws against gender-based violence and hold perpetrators fully accountable. Justice must not remain an empty promise.

Support Systems: Survivors need accessible shelters, hotlines, medical and psychological counseling, and safe spaces where they can heal and rebuild their lives.

Education: We must challenge harmful cultural norms and stereotypes through education, raising awareness of women’s rights, and building a culture of equality and respect.

Empowerment: Women must be empowered economically and socially, reducing dependency and vulnerability, and enabling them to stand as equal partners in society.

Community Action: Ending violence is not the responsibility of women alone. Men, boys, and entire communities must be engaged as allies, advocates, and champions of equality and non-violence.

Only through collective efforts-governments, civil society, communities, and individuals—can we guarantee safety, justice, and dignity for all women and girls. This campaign is a call for unity, action, and commitment to a future free from violence.”
