Fighting Famine in Sudan and Supporting Peace Talks in Geneva

“The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, in partnership with several organizations, convened a collaborative forum to address Sudan’s pressing humanitarian and peacebuilding challenges. Together, the partners discussed strategies to alleviate famine, protect civilians, and amplify the voices of affected communities, reaffirming the power of coordinated action, solidarity, and advocacy in advancing peace, justice, and human dignity across Sudan.”

In a joint effort to address Sudan’s urgent humanitarian crisis and support pathways to peace, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy (NCPD) convened a forum on humanitarian issues and the agenda of the upcoming Geneva peace talks.

The event, held on August 6, 2024 at the African Organization for Rights and Development (AFORD) in Kampala, brought together partner organizations including the Dreamers Network for Human Rights Media and Sudanese Youth Match.

The forum provided a platform to discuss strategies for combating famine in Sudan, amplifying the voices of victims, and ensuring that the Geneva talks prioritize humanitarian needs and the protection of civilians.
