International Peace Day: Closing Ceremony .. Art as Collective Memory
On September 20, the celebrations culminated in a moving ceremony attended by a large Sudanese community and a USAID delegation.
The event featured a musical performance by Peace Ambassador Asim Al-Tayeb Qurashi, theatrical sketches, and the screening of “Reef Psalms.” Through music, theatre, and cinema, the evening highlighted both the pain of displacement and the resilience of Sudanese communities, inspiring hope that Sudan will rise from its ashes stronger and more peaceful.
