Khartoum/Kampala – January 1, 2025
A coalition of civil society organizations today announced the launch of the national campaign “Our Rights Are Protected” under the slogan “Protecting Civilians in Sudan”, running until January 15, 2025.

The campaign aims to raise public awareness and defend the rights of Sudanese civilians amid widespread human rights violations since the outbreak of war on April 15, 2023. The campaign is led by six prominent organizations: One Community for Peace and Development, African Organization for Rights and Development, Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, Dreamers Network for Media and Human Rights, Nubatia Organization for Sustainable Development, and Asil Women’s Organization.
Activities will include media campaigns, virtual forums, statements condemning violations, and engagement with regional and international civil society organizations to advocate for civilian protection and mobilize support.

The organizations call on all partners, individuals, and media outlets to join these efforts, affirming that protecting civilians in Sudan is a collective responsibility and a humanitarian duty.
