“Child marriage is a serious violation of children’s rights and a form of gender-based violence. It robs girls of their childhood, education, health, and opportunities to thrive, and exposes them to abuse, exploitation, and early pregnancies.”

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign calls on governments, communities, and institutions to take decisive action to stop child marriage. This includes enforcing laws, raising awareness, empowering girls, and promoting social norms that protect the rights and dignity of every child.

Ending child marriage is not just a legal obligation-it is a moral and social responsibility. Together, we can ensure that every child grows up safe, educated, and free from violence, able to fulfill her potential and live with dignity.”
