Pink October: Raising Awareness and Promoting Early Detection in Kampala
Kampala, Uganda – October 29, 2024
As part of the Pink October campaign, the African Organization for Rights and Development, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, the Nubatia Organization for Sustainable Development, and the Dar Organization for Women and Children’s Rights Development organized a series of breast cancer awareness activities at the AFORD office in Kampala.

The event included an open day for early screening for Sudanese women, a coffee session to discuss the importance of early detection, self-care practices, and home self-examination, and an open seminar addressing the psychological effects and challenges before and after screening.

This initiative highlights the importance of early detection, self-care, and community awareness in the fight against breast cancer, a disease that affects millions of women worldwide. The Pink October campaign serves as a global reminder of hope, resilience, and solidarity with women facing this disease.
